    Hey guys,

I was just wondering does anyone know what the standard power levels are for NTL.

My downstream power level for the last 2 months has been between -2.2dB and -3.3dB. Over the weekend this has changed to between -4.8dB and -5.5dB. Today they are between -7.5dB and -8.3dB. My mates, who lives in the city centre says his levels are 20dB. (By the way I am in D4)

Also my mates upstream power level is 38dB whereas mine has been 58dB for god knows how long.

I have been having alot of downtime recently which NTL are looking into.

    Any ideas??

You've got low levels for sure. Your downstream rx levels are dropping way too low for the modem to operate properly.
Your upstream tx levels are dangerously high to failing. Depending on the type of modem you have this figure tops out at 55db to 61db. Your modem is transmitting as hard as it can just to make its connection.
For example my downstream is 2.7db and my upstream is 42db...normal enough levels.
You'll need to have this looked into by UPC.

I read somewhere that downstream should be between -8 and +8 . My upstream is at 51dB, it used to constantly be 61dB.
