    Hi there,

I txt and phone USA quite a lot. Does anyone know how I can txt free. For phoning, I use a calling card which gives me quite a good few minutes but it'd help also if i could txt free.

    Thanks

o2 web texts can be sent to america. i have two programs for making use of them, one for use on a computer and one for use on a phone. you can get them here:

    http://cabaal.org/cabbage/

texting from the desktop is free and texting from the phone costs about 2c. what kind of phone do you have? are you on o2?

and there's a program called AFT that can use the web texts too and also make use of a service called sms discount that lets you send texts very cheaply. you can get it here:

    Hi Sam,

Thank you for replying to me. I've downloaded SMSDiscount and im on the free txts at the moment, however, I dont mind paying the little they charge later on. Also how do I use it for txting from my mobile?

I dont understand though, how I can phone USA on my mobile? It states calls to landline/mobile in USA are free but how do I do it on my phone? Will my network (Vodafone) charge me? I have an apple iphone.

i'm afraid the program won't work on an iphone. it's a java program and the iphone doesn't support it.

also, it just supports the texting part, you can't call from it.

you can't send smsdiscount texts from your iphone right now but if you give me maybe two days you will be able to. i just had a look and realised it's extremely easy to set it up
