Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hows it going guys!

Me and a friend are thinking of going to New York for a few months but were not sure of what visas to get! Neither of us are in collage so we cant get the j1 visas does anyone no of a "working" visa you can get for the year? And how much these visas cost?

We might already have a job in the buildings over there but if that falls threw how easy/difficult is it to get work upon arrival?

Also i heard somewhere that while stayin in America u can apply to change the status of ur visa to a temperary visa ie.H-2B, Is this true does anyone know?

    Thanks alot.

If you don't qualify for a J-1 or any other student-oriented visa, it's actually extremely difficult to get a work visa for the US. Priority is given to specific professions; your US-based employer would have to make the application for you. You don't really have many options, I'm afraid. The H2B visa would fit your situation; however, the employer is going to have to prove that no one who is already resident in the US can do the job - that's where the difficulty lies. Most employers are not willing to go through the hoops to prove this, especially not for just a few months. If yours is, though, that would be where you start - asking if they will apply for this visa for you.
