Tracert timed out on me once I hit digiweb.ie . Another ntl sufferer here :(

Wow I had never tried this site with javascrit disabled but everything loads like lightning. Based on that the script probably needs some serious looking at.

Super fast but the downside is no menu at the top of each page to swap between boards.

Boards.ie has herpes. Nothing else can explain this lag! I will try this disabling of javascript theory.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,759 ✭✭✭✭dlofnep

Ok, I guess it's not herpes afterall. Disabling javascript seems to have done the trick. It loads superquick now. But alas, no navbar :(

Hi, I posted in the "Help forum" a few days ago about this issue. Ruu just refered me to this thread and I see that this is still not resolved!

I use Opera on my MacBook. I don't want to have to change my browser, I like Opera.

I'm still having problems, when will this be fixed? Will it be fixed?

Is there anyone working to fix it or do I just have to accept it and change browser and block adds and disable javascript??

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,192 ✭✭✭HungryJoey

I also am experiencing this. Its really starting to P!ss me off now. Taking 15-20 seconds for the page to appear. It appears to load the top menu/navigation on boards, then just says "Done" and hangs for 15 seconds then all the text just appears. I'm on NTL and know someone else on NTL experiencing this.

However, in work its loading perfectly fine on the same laptop through eircom!

CuLT is working on fixing it. Going by what CuLT has said so far it seems to be a problem with how certain isps route their traffic. You can help by posting up who your isp is and doing a tracert to fogra.boards.ie.

Hope I did this right and that it helps, if there is any private information from my computer that I shouldn't have posted here can someone please tell me, or remove it

Me thinks that digiweb is trying to piss off NTL customers so they will switch to digiweb :( .

I mean, once it reachs INEX there should be no reason that any packets are being dropped.Right??

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,007 ✭✭✭Moriarty

It's filtering that's on the fogra.boards.ie box thats dropping the ping packets. Try tracing to www.boards.ie for instance, it will work fine.

All of Boards loads very, very slowly for me in the last couple of weeks. And it's not my system - all other pages load normally. It happened suddenly, not gradually, so I suspect that if the fault can be tracked down to the day it started, it will become obvious what the cause is.

Ah, twas something really simple/stupid now that I know what it was; poorly set network properties (by me) that just happened to conflict with a large proportion of NTL IP addresses.

Could anyone who was having problems could confirm that it's fixed now? I'd like to let the NOC lads know they can remove the KVM.
