Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm pretty sure the Mattig kit for those existed before the Escort Cosworth. Whale tail was probably more to copy the original Sierra Cosworth.

There was a white wide-body Astra in Cork when I was a lad, I used to lust after it. It didn't have the whale tail and nonsense exhausts though, obviously.

Is there two of those probiscis celicas? Surely not?
Or did the one that was in Limerick finally sell onto someone in Galway, who had it for two weeks before the sight of people openly laughing at it provoked him to sell it on? Where will the next lucky owner hail from?

I seem to remember a wide body astra round Cork too. I don't think any of the cars in Marty McFlys posts are really skangered.

Ok- weeeediculous speakers in pug, didn't see them while skimming
AH, so this is the pic Marty meant to link to

I'd take that Astra if the money wasn't so high on it. Mattig have a massive following on the continent and are in high demand. A lad I know has a Opel Manta with a mattig kit , looks mental!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,985 ✭✭✭✭dgt

Replace that Mattig kit with a Rieger kit and we have what is to me a shít hot looking Astra

There two in the country as far as I know. His one is black with a manta 400 front, twin headlamps and ex works grill with integrated lamp pod. And most certainly not a Sanger! The back tyres cost 2 or 3 times more than any of the cars listed here.

I had the misfortune of seeing that during the week.

The GTI badge on the front is soooo badly painted. The paint is thin in places and smudged all over the back plate for the letters.

Wanted to quote loads of ye, but that KADETT makes me want to puke.

It's much easier to accept the repugnance of it when you call it a Kadett.

On a sidenote, why do skangermobiles always have those 6 ft aerials with a twisty bit at the bottom?

I think they can link up to lorries and the skanger and the lorry driver can chit chat.
