Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

We use Outlook Express 6 with eircom.net through a pop3 system.
Recently we had damaged our harddrive and had great difficulty recovering our emails.

I heard that with imap all the mails are saved on a server.

Does anyone know if this process is available with eircom.net?

    Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

    Thanks,

    S.

Not so far as I know. You can choose to leave pop 3 mails on the server too in the settings.

Thank you for the reply. How would i go about changing the settings. Would it be on the eircom website?

Eircom.net mail doesn't support IMAP. Doing as Sherifu said and leaving them on the server will work but remember, your online inbox is only 5 megabytes and will fill fairly quickly.

One solution I've found handy is to setup a new Gmail address and set it to retrieve emails from your Eircom email.

You don't loose your old email address.
You can send via the Eircom email address in Gmail.
The spam filter is second to none.
    Gmail supports IMAP & POP.
Even if you only use POP, the mails are still left on the server.
    The inbox is huge.
