My son has a 2002 Volkswagen Golf and there is a couple of small marks on the front bumper. He does not have the money to get the bumper re-sprayed and wants to do a minor touch up job.
As the title says, does anyone know where on the car to find the colour code? It's a dark grey metallic.

Exactly - it's on a white sticker in the spare wheel well. This sticker also contains lots of other information relating to your car. An exact copy of this sticker is in the inside cover of your Service Schedule which should be in the handbook pack. The paint code generally begins with the letter 'L' and is four characters long.

Took out spare wheel and can't see any sticker or plate with any codes in the bay......

try the owners manual, a duplicate sticker should be in it. Mine has the sticker in the boot tho.

I'd be suspicious if its missing, sign of accident damage?

Check the bay for dents or ripples in it, It could of been hit from behind and sprayed maybe that’s why there is no sticker?

If you can't find it the service department of any VW garage should be able to look it up for you based on the reg.

They do also sell touch-up pens - I got one for my (06) golf plus in Sheedy's (Naas) for a tenner recently.

    VOLKSWAGEN SATINSILBER MET LB7Z
    VOLKSWAGEN SILBERGRAU MET LD7V
    VOLKSWAGEN STURMGRAU MET LK7Y
    VOLKSWAGEN SUEDE MET LG7X
    VOLKSWAGEN URBAN GREY MET LD7W

If you can find any of these codes then you can match up or just check with a dealer based on chassis no.
