Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It does but if you are setting up surround sound, you will need an optical cable as well.

That depends on the receiver/amp you are connecting too, and the device you are outputting from. HDMI cables carry audio and video.

Should have gone for a Monster cable dude. As you can see from the link below cheaper cables which are not often mechanically sound (like the 5 euro and 7 euro jobs) can introduce video artifacts such as colour banding, pixel dropouts, "sparkles". Can happen easily from plugging the thing in and out and the connector degrades over time. Plus cheaper cables most likely won't support 1080p @ 12bit colour depth and beyond. Monster cables have none of these issues and are the way to go :D

Marketing crap. The cable passes 1's and 0's. That's it. The cheaper the better. Certain qualities differ in relation to the type of shielding used on the cable. Just buy whatever you are most comfortable with, the resulting picture will be identical.

@Flaccus have a peep around here or here.

The cable must meet certain specifications, after that the rest is creative marketing.

    Cheerio

I know this. I was being sarchastic. Although they do make a valid point about some cables not being mechanically sound. I've had a couple of duffers in my time.

It's all moot anyway. He was getting an optical cable. :)

Ah no, sure optical cables don't carry sound, just red light :D

If you can get one of these with HDMI and pass the xbox sound output through it...it would mega fly man :D

BTW.... on serious note, optical is the only way to go. But yourself 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system and plug her into the 360. You'll never listen to the xbox again through regular speakers
