I'm ashamed of you Xavi, there were calls to have Skrtel sent off and plenty of name calling for a similar cynical foul a while back. tut tut, no condoning fouling :)

It was more of a 'typical terrible Scholes tackle' lol tbh. If I was reffin I'd have sent him, and given a peno!

    Barca (Barca fans)
Nothing cynical about his tackle, it was an intelligent decision by scholes :)

    Zambrotta does a Carvalho.

Great goal, completely against the run of play. Doesnt change all that much. Baarcelona still have to score to win.

    Scholes You Legend!!!!

Savage goal in fairness to Scholes, but it was retarded defending by Deco, actually pretty much picking out Scholes in space to give him a shot!

I think they'll need another to go through, think Barca will get at least their 1 goal given the amount of game time left and the extra bit of pressure. Suits United now to sit back a bit and play on the break though. Could see a 1-1, a 2-2 or something like a 3-1 to United!

Great bit of play from Messi. What was iniesta at when he go the ball ?Why didnt he just lay it back to the player free 10 yards away?

Damn Messi's lethal beyond belief. That was very close. He really can shred defences with ludicrous ease.

    Barca (Barca fans)
Awesome play by Messi. Good chance there from Park also.

puyol looks likes he needs an ambulance

evra should really be told to stop attacking so much and watch messi

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

Jesus, what was Barcelona doing there. They had control of first 10 minutes and then that.
Still Messi is already showing his brilliance. I think United will have to score at least 2 to get through although against that defence shouldn't be a huge ask.

Also NFL cam!, good to see it being used in other sports

I honestly dont see Barce scoring. They'll have possesion but like last week, no end product.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,080 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

    How good is Messi ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

My God Messi's good. Looks to be the only real threat.

    Barca
Feel sorry for Messi, he's the only Barcelona player performing tonight.

As for Abidal, it's unbelievable that a carthorse like him could be picked ahead of Evra in the French national team.

Why is Eto'o not in ready to pounce in the box at every opertunity?!

Could maybe see Bojan coming on on 60 mins and making himself a hero..

Barca still looking a bit disjointed when they get right forward, but doing better now at least. Deco not having a great game though.

<edit> typically soon as i say it he has a savage shot just wide.

    Barca (Barca fans)
Anyone know why some united fans are continuously booing when Barca have the ball, I missed the first few minutes, did something happen?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 526 ✭✭✭LuckyCharms

I didnt see anything happen. Maybe because they were slow to put the ball out with VDS was injured ?

Man United did not even put the ball out!

    Barca (Barca fans)
Nani has been largely useless. Keeps giving the ball away and missed a great chance. I'd take him off and bring on Anderson.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

    Man Utd (United fans)
Man Eto and Nani are both woeful tonight

    Ronaldo very marginal

    Messi the player

Apart from balls into the box Utd havent created anything of note

Too tight to pick a winner atm

The booing thing is well annoying - what the hell is the fans problem?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

one minute of added time is a disgrace. There were at least two stoppages for injuries

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 90 ✭✭$lattman

Eto'o keeps screwing up all the moves! Every Barca attack is predictable...run up the right wing, slow down, pass it into the middle, then spread it left and take a stupid shot that hits a United defender...awful stuff

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Barca have looked good in spells, Utds defence less than assured at times with the midfield slow to track back. I missed the goal as I flicked over at the wrong moment.

    Mike.

Great mysteries of the world: Who shot JFK ? How was that goal allowed?
