Are staying in Limerick for a few nights, and was wondering where would be a good restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary? Are looking for somewhere that does a really good steak, nice wine, a good atmosphere, and not snobby. :) if its close to a good pub, then thats all d better...

    Thanks a mill!

For an excellent meal try the Clarion Hotel. I've tried it a few times and never been disappointed.

No no no not for a wedding anniversary.

    Try one of the following:
Brulees - corner of Henry St & Lwr Mallow St (near Jury's Inn)
Freddies - off Lwr Glentworth St.
Moll Darby's - Georges Quay, next door to the Locke Bar
Azur (not sure about the steak there) - on O'Connell St (city centre).

It is, without a doubt, the most over-rated restaurant in Limerick. It struggles to attain the level of mediocre. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Well in fairness the man asked for a nice steak in somewhere that wasnt too snobby and happen to think the Texas fits that bill. Would agree with freddys as well though. If u want a fabulous dinner though u can't beat the Market square

Did that not burn down last year? Or was that one of the other buildings nearby?

Nope, that was Avoca across the road. The creamery is well and truly open. Mate of mine is the chef in there actually, bang up food altogether!

I agree that the Texas Steakhouse perfectly fits the bill here, the steak is really good (obviously!), it is maybe slightly overpriced but there is a lovely atmosphere there (not snobby at all, theres a bit of a buzz with some large groups but its not too loud) and I found the staff lovely and really obliging! Have been there twice in the past month and would go again! (Recommend the potato skins for starter!)

Would also recommend Freddies Bistro - good food and nice, cosy atmosphere
    La Piccola - Italian
Copper and Spice - think its Thai/Indian - have never been but heard its good

Dolans Pub and Restaurant - really nice pub with good atmosphere, the restaurant part is slightly separate to the bar so wud still say its good for an anniversary (tho maybe a restaurant wud be better if its an important one:)) The food is a little expensive but good and if u like trad music i wud definitely go there!

Reply if u need directions anywhere!
