Hey everyone,

the thread about second year arts subjects spurred me to ask some questions. I'm in (well just finished ) second year Arts and I think that teaching would be a great career for me. I know it's still a good bit away before I need to bother myself with any of this but it's just dawned on me that I actually haven't a clue about how to go about getting into teaching or more importantly, what GPA (if it's even relevant) or other requirements that I may need...

To do it in UCD I think youll need about 3.4 - 3.5

Page 30 of this document is the points table for applications http://www.pac.ie/hdip/downloads/hb08hdip.pdf

A gpa of 3.1 would have secured a place this year but the pac calculate their gpa at 4.0 but for some bizarre reason our gpa is calculated at 4.2 so actually 3.3 would probably have been enough this year
