Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Heading to Maui with two friends on the J1 for the summer and cannot seem to find any available accommodation. Any one been to the Lahaina area? Any recommendations for somewhere to stay??

Any one else heading there out of interest?

Don't think you'll find a huge amount of Irish people going there. Only around 3-5% of J1ers go to Hawaii. I'm still surprised that it's a J1 destination. Hardly no nightlife, parties aren't as regular as other parts of mainland US, hard to find a job and also really expensive, especially for acccommodation.

It's a great place to see as a holiday. At least your not too far from California if your not having much luck in Hawaii. Try craiglist or sublet.com for accommodation or look up a college in Maui. Usually colleges list accommodation for students.
