Im looking for an 8 track with a cd burner which allows me to transport audio wavs back into a mac to edit in pro tools. I need a modern model have around 750 euro to spend any suggestions?

Have you seen this: Yamaha AW2816

Its actually a 16 track desk. Will record 8 at once. Its 24bit so excellent quality. Has flying faders, inbuilt CD burner so you can export into protools as you requested. Correct me if I'm wrong but maybe you could use the S/PDIF connection to link to your Mbox/002 etc
Its an older desk but being based on the Yamaha 02R, is still 'current'.

Oh, by the way, did I mention that I may have one going a begging??:D Was thinking about sticking it up on adverts soon as I need the cash. Would be less then your budget too.
