Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

SQL server database management

    Hi there,
We have ongoing problems with SQL server performance in our organization and the tools we use do not really allow us to delve deep into the system to diagnose faults.

I'd imagine if we had more information we might be able to solve some of the problems.

At the moment we are using SQL server 2005 with management studio version 9. The management studio we use allows us to see all current processes and wait type.

Usually we identify problematic processes with an error in the wait type column "page io latch" but I would like to see why this is happening.

I really don't think this is a problem with our hardware. We use a high bandwidth san with gigabit links to the sql server. Usually there will be less than 3 accessing the san at anyone time.
