there may well be a hotel down on the prom though, if it gets approved by An Bord Pleanala (residents have objected to the development).
construct a new mixed use, four storey development incorporating ground floor storage and retail units, first floor restaurant, retail units and public house/restaurant, second floor hostel and hotel accommodation, third floor viewing towers, and in addition to building signage, redirection of existing public sewers and services, connection to ains water and drainage, entrance onto new public road, boundary treatment, landscaping and all ancillary assoc. site works

I thought the shopping center was being located on the land where South was, the back of it right up by the old Tourist Office and Train house? The land opposite South was purchased seperately I thought?

All the land will be going from the Old train station out as far as the lake. if you look into the plans of the whole complex it shows how big a developement this will be

speaking of developments , I see the complex on the Prom beside Lidos has been granted pp

Four stories could be kinda excessive , but could really drag the area up lets hope they do and keep it right.

I really hope that 4 storey hotel doesnt get built, that area should be developed but one or two storey's is sufficient

I don't know if a budget type hotel is what we need either, would only add to the amount of tramps coming to the town each summer, there is a real lack of a decent hotel in the town

Agreed. Its a shame the amount of objections that was given to the development out in Garrus didnt happen with this application.
