Q6700 or Q9450 ?

    I was waiting for 9450 far for too long , and prices on 6700 has fallen down so what your recon ?

    I would pair it with ASUS P5E3 Deluxe......+ A-DATA DDR3 1600X, 2048MB Kit 1600Mhz, CL 7-7-7-20

    Only up to 7% performance difference clock for clock, but lower temps if your oc'in. I'd go for the Q9450 and I'd drop the ddr3, ddr2 is at amazing prices at moment, 4Gb for less than €100.

    Don't think your futureproofing, theres a new Intel socket out later on in the year so upgrading to a newer chip on that mobo is impossible, ddr3 will be cheaper & faster by then also.

    How much cheaper?

    If its over €60 go with the Q6700

    Q6700 will overclock higher, given its 10x multiplier, the Q9450 wont overclock as high but it will run cooler and use less energy so I'd go with it if its not that much more expensive.

    Q6700 is €193 on hardwareversand.de, here, €30 delivery tho so get other bits along with it.
