    Not very fast nor does it have a long range
    Motor: 6.7 kW hydralic pump motor from loader
    Drivetrain: 4 speed manual
    Batteries: 12, 12.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, Flooded starter batteries with calcium (six 12V50Ah and six12V75Ah)
    System Voltage: 72 Volts
    Charger: modified 3KW welding transformer
    Heater: only fresh cold air
    DC/DC Converter: (marine lead acid 80Ah battery)
    Instrumentation: 2 Voltmeters and Ammeters
    Top Speed: 56 MPH (90 KPH) or more down a steep hill
    Acceleration: 0 to 25 MPH in about 40 seconds
    Range: 10 Miles (16 Kilometers) (with 100-200m hill climes)

    You'd have to give him credit for trying! :)

    Yea the range is a bit small, probably due to the batteries used and the inefficiencies in the DC motor / controller...

    I would love to do an EV conversion if i had the time... would be great to have an EV for poping down the bank and doing small runs.... would be great to have a small 1kw windmill for charging it up too, totally free motoring :D

    It would make you wonder......
    If a backyard mechanic can do that with off the shelf (inefficent) parts. Just what could the big players do? I reckon the oil companies are paying them off to keep IC engines on the go. :confused:
