$5k for Vegas Tournaments

I will be in vegas from 1st to 8th July with scope for extension if I qualified for ME. How would you best advise to spend my $ on tournaments?
What is the format of the Mega Satellites ($330, $550 and $1050)?
How would you use the $5k, all suggestions welcomed. :pac:

The supersatellites are pure crapshoots. Dont play anything less than the 1k ones. I played 2 of the 500 ones last year and they have 5k starting stack, 30 mins clock, skipping several levels.

Goes something like this. 25/50 - 50/100 - 100/200 - 150/300/25 - 200/400/50

At that point it is a crap shoot. When there were 70 left in the second one I played with 35 tickets I missed at opportunity to double up to above average stack, and that would have left me with 11 BB's, never mind antes, and that was above average.

Play some smaller tournies that aren't wsop related and use them as sats, or else play loads of the single table sats where deals are common and try and make it through them.

Haha, no but I know which post you're referring to. I won a package which includes a $1k WSOP chip and will add to that from my online roll.
So do those STT's tend to get chopped at the last 3 or so?
Do any other casinos have their own series of tournaments?

Check out the Venetian schedule. There is a link in the WSOP sticky in the tournie forum, but I can't be bothered to go there to get it for you.

The Bellagio has a $540 tournament that gets about 80-100 players that has a good amount of play. The Venetain has good tournaments as well but that one stood out to me as having the best structure. I would imagine that in July things will probably change though. Make sure you find out the structures though as there are loads of pretty bad tournaments aimed at just getting the tourists in and out quickly.

with this type off budget id play the games in ceasers palace. just check out there schedule. from there id move to the bellagio for the 1k games.

I played some supersats and thought they were pretty decent value. It really would be a shame to go to Vegas during the series and not at least take a shot at winning a ticket, you should play either a super or a STT sat at some point.

Check out the Caesars Palace ‘Mega Stack Series’ (runs June 1st to July 9th) and the The Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza (runs May 29th to July 16th).

Unless I'm very much mistaken you will find the full schedule for both by going to the hotels websites and then into their poker room pages.

The Venetian had the best run and value tourneys imo.

I would def play a few stt in the Rio aswell, these can be soft and tend to get chopped with 2/3 left.
You could easily go on a run at these and have your M.E. buyin.:D:D

I would steer clear of any other Tourneys in the Rio, low starting stacks, ****e structure=crap shoot. You'd be better off playing pitch and toss for $500 a game!!!!!!!!!
