Renewing Licence question

    My 10 years is nearly up and I am renewing my licence next month, will the start date be the date back in 98 or will it start in 08, the reason i ask is that most hire car companies say your licence has to be a year old, I dont want any issues when i try to hire a car on holidays this summer

    the start date will be 2008, so your licence will read for example :
    07/08-07/18

    That's not what happened to me when I renewed my licence last year - it shows my start date as 97 with an end date in 2017.

    mine has:
    'issued on xx/xx/02'

    in the categories bit it has:
    'from xx/xx/92 to xx/xx/12' under the categories covered.

    thats weird, im on my second licence and its the opposite.
    OP : you could be lucky and get the above.
