Connecting PS3 to NTL wired broadband

Xbox 360 connects automatically,ps3 cant get ip address when i manually put one in i get dns error.Tried switching off and on modem.

You need a separate ethernet port Router (not DSL/ADSL). Maplin and Argos sell them.

Has a 5th ethernet port for the Modem as well as the normal 4 switch ethernet ports and optional wiFi.
