Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has anybody had a good long-term vol. experience? What would be the place to look for ideas? Books, websites?
    Thanks

There's good links on the voluntering forum, I think you already posted there, didn't you?
    VSO or VSI are good.
I found the best thing is to just get to a country and find a poster in a hostel looking for someone. Found lots of these in Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, India and a few others. Not many of them had websites though.
What kind of volunteering do you want to do? What are you trained in and stuff?
Have to remember volunteering is working for free. So you're qualified for the same things you would be if you wanted money, and if it's unskilled work any decent NGO will hire locals. I got lucky in some of the above countries because I speak Spanish.
