If they included King Kong they'd have to pay you to take the stuff off their hands. :p

King Kong was included with the very first batch of players that was released.

I checked in Argos today and they are still selling for €50

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 583 ✭✭✭xp90

Crazy cheap price, got mine earlier today. cant think of much of a use for it although the remote is very handy. any advice on using it for the pc??

Anyone know of any of the shops with it still available?
I had one reserved in XtraVision in Stillorgan and when I went in to get it, it magically disappeared. Bloody Typical.
I have checked some of the other XtraVision stores but they are Sold Out.
Blackrock, Sandyford, Shankill, Ballybrack and Dalkey don't have any left.

I know Argos have reduced their ones to €50, but I'd rather get it for the tenner.

    Cheers,
    Joe

If anyone's not had any luck getting one of these, post here and let me know. I might very well be the bearer of some good news for you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 993 ✭✭✭bigslick

OH YES!!! i havent got one, help me out!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,039 ✭✭✭✭Kintarō Hattori

OK. Now don't go getting me into trouble by calling into the shop or ringing the shop and asking but Peats will have about 20 of the HD-DVD drives for €9.95 very soon. They are just waiting for credit from the supplier before they can drop them in price.

Please respect what I've said above and DO NOT drop in/ring the shop before I post in here. Once it's good to go I will post here again and let you know that they have been dropped in price.

Hmnn I can't remember what stock the other branches have but the majority of the drives will be in Parnell Street. I'll post exact figures tomorrow.

    Yeah they're a really shifty bunch. :o

I may try and pick up another one actually.

ha... I paid e200 when they first came out... I've got so many HD-DVDs now I'm terrified that one of my players will break at some point in the future, so it would be nice to have a replacement or two.

Can anyone tell me if the price at 49euro in Argos will come down

I reserved one @ blanch west end & there is one left for anyone who wants the last one.

~It would be nice to know if they will be reducing it to the 9.99 anytime soon ~

Are you sure about Dalkey, I'm going to try them tomorrow afternoon cos I heard they had some.

    Rathgar seem a good bet.

Anybody know if Tesco have any, they seem to be the dark horses when it comes to hardware. PS3 and GTA €400!

God no. With these being in as much demand as they are we have to have our fun somewhere. It'll demonstrate your level of commitment to buy. :pac:

They will come down in price. Basically we are waiting on credit back from our suppliers before we can drop the price. I haven't forgotten anyone here or anyone who has sent me a PM. When they have dropped in price I will post here immediately.

I know it's a pain in the ass and I'm annoyed as it makes me look like something of a wanker. But be patient and they will come down.

From what I can see there are 17 in Parnell Street, 3 in Blanchardstown and 10 in Whitewater in Newbridge. Now don't take these as gospel as the system has been known to be wrong and it doesn't take any faulty items into account either.

Ring the shop and ask them to keep you one if you're interested.

I rang Parnell St but the guy I was speaking to said he can't reserve one for me...even offered to give him by credit card to pay for it but no joy !
