The Aquarid Meteor Shower is due this weekend. Expected to peak just before dawn on Monday morning. With the lack of a moon it is expected that they will be particularly clear this year.

Hi Billy.Wheres the best place to be to get the full effect of a Meteor shower?Is it as simple as a place with absolutely no light?Are there any groups meeting up around the place?

Love sitting out in August in my folks place watching the showers.Countryside,No light whatsoever

The eta Aquarid meteor shower peaks this year on Monday, May 5th, and Tuesday, May 6th. The best time to look, no matter where you live, is during the hours immediately before sunrise. If you can, get away from city lights; you will see more meteors from the dark countryside.
