The last game I bought was GTA San Andreas and didn't even play it that much. At the time I worked in Xtra-vision so just took games home from there. Anyway don't wanna read any of the threads in case of spoilers but would you recommend anyone to get a new console just to play this game?

If you dont really play is it worth getting?
    Really depends on yourself.
I bought a 360 mostly for GTA4 and online with other games. I think the game is better in many aspects to GTA SA. There is a few issues but its the best game Ive every played.

IMO, no single game is worth shelling out on a console for. If i did that i'd be pretty pissed when i finished it that i spent around €300 - 400 for a single game. If theres other games on the system that appeal to you and you know you'll play then i'd say go for it

having the same dilema absolutly love gta and dying to play it but unsure about splashing out on a new console but dont know how long more i can hold out. If i did buy one it would be most like ly the only game id play. Like i have a ps2 and i only ever use it to play gta or as a dvd player

Yes, don't buy a second hand 360 though, the brand new ones are unreliable enough as it is.

thats why you buy a new console tbh, i bought the 360 for GTA and the ps3 for Solid Snake, the wii for wii sports/zelda.

Why else would you buy a new console? a certain game has to drag you into it.

OP Gta4 is worth buying a console for, which one is up to you but i would go with the 360 for live and the DLC.

I bought the GTAIV PS3 bundle on Saturday and I don't regret it one bit. I had planned on holding out until MGS4 came out but took a chance on this game and it's well worth it imo. I also was disappointed with San Andreas like the OP but I feel this game is more akin to GTA3 in that it shakes up the GTA series in a great way. The storyline is great too.

    I would recommend it.

Ah MNG! I guess we do have something in common after all.

I got my PS3 on Friday. Was looking for the Blu Ray bundle (as a way to keep the missus happy in the process), but HMV in Swords only had the GTA IV bundle, so as a courtesy she threw in the Speed and Casino Royal blu-rays in for free as well! So it was a nice way for me to test out the PS3 version of the game.

I have to say, i always hated the PS controllers, the shape of them alone are just not comfortable on the palms. So as a result, i found it more difficult to control on the PS3 than i did on the 360. I would also just like to say that not once has the game crashed on me on the PS3 in the time i've been playing it. I haven't bothered hooking it up to PSN though. I don't do a lot of online gaming due to lack of time.

But if you're looking for an affordable way to get a PS3, even if it's just for a blu-ray player (which costs about 400 euro anyway), get the GTA pack while it's still on 40GB, because they won't be around for much longer :)

    VR!
