Lip piercings and brass instruments

Hey all, just wondering does anyone have any experience playing a brass instrument with a lip piercing? Does the piercing effect your playing when the jewelry is taken out? I'd absolutely love to get my lip pierced, but alas I play the trumpet and I'm not willing to risk something that'll effect my performance :)

It will be swollen initially so that will probably effect your playing but once it is settled there should be no problems.
