Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Quick question. I was driving through the city last night and I spotted two guards checking every parked car for Tax/Insurance. I always thought if a car was parked, with no driver or anything, you could not be fined?

    Seems a bit odd..

As long as it is on a public road, parked or otherwise, it's fair game.

Aye they were young guards out on a stroll, but its the first time iv ever seen such.

Saying that, I spotted a check point on the Promenade in Tramore. First time ever for that to!

Afaik, a car parked on a public road would have to have a current tax disc displayed on the front windscreen. However, it would not have to display an insurance disc if it is parked.

The insurance disc is always required if parked also as it must be covered by insurance even when parked and not in use.

See section 73 finance act 1976 wrt tax discs.
