whats the security number? usually a letter followed by 3 numbers e.g. T 123

Same story

mondeo 2010 imported from the UK,

New battery and need the code. Have no idea if / how I can take out the radio to get the serial number.
Brought it to a Ford dealer today and they told me to come back Mon / Fri for diagnostic.
I rang Ford Ireland and they said the same.
Is there any easier way?
can I get the code elsewhere?
Also.. no owners manual etc

Your radio will have a V serial no. and these are not available for free on any forum. Check in your area for someone who repairs / decodes car stereos or ask as your garage as to where they get their radios repaired.

Hi There,

Here's a couple of youtube links that might help:-

Sometimes 2 and 6 rather than 1 and 6.

If you can get the V number, the dealer should be able to look up the code on their database without needing to run a full diagnostic. You could try emailing a few dealers and one might do it out of the goodness of their hearts! If not, there are a few guys on ebay that charge for the service, if you go to ebay.co.uk and search for "mondeo v radio code" and take your pick from them. Hope you can sort it.

If you find the "v" code then bring that to a main dealer and they will give you the code. They charge 10 euro for a code retrieval though.

My wife (who was on her way to the Ford dealership) pulled in, checked the manual and found the radio code!!!
