I don't think a poll can be added to the existing thread, so here we go. Do people prefer Friday, May 16th or Thursday, May 22nd for the next boards beers?

Both! You can never spend too much time with strangers from the internet.

Neither, I need to be booked 2-3 months in advanced.

'The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wasteoids, dweebies, dickheads.'

    spot the quote.

Where does this session occur? My social awkwardness would have to be overcome by many beers.

They've done these boards beers before, and a few of us are involved in a book club together

I went to the last one - was really good as it was during the first week of my move to Galway. Book Club, as Pope mentions, is also very good (though I haven't been able to get back to it due to work-travel)

So um, shall we start somewhere not of the usual? (usual is Roisin dubh/blue note/bier haus, getting sick of them) Um, say Kings Head or Cellar or somehwere?

If I go, I'll end up being despised by the entire boards Galway section and then my life will not be worth living.

The poll seems to be working out well. So far everyone has agreed to disagree.

Why would you end up being despised?

    You'll see.

Oh please, you're quite personable, no one will be despising ya.

Wait you mean because you'll remain sober and be able to report in detail on all the stupid drunk goings-on? I see your point ;)

    I feel like such a newbie ...

    No ****. I suspect a poll-balancing plot.

Actually, I'd guess this would be a win for both nights at this point. It's not like I need to see my not-internet friends during the month of May anyway. They don't know me like y'all do ;)

No self respecting Galway Boards Beer would show up in Kings Head or Cellar! All you newbies and your fancy pubs! Join dates in the 2000's pffft!

    Right on the button.

    Why would I be despised?

I'm slagging. I don't think I'm bad enough to alienate people in one evening.
Although funnily enough, I don't know anyone here except for Tristan (met at a Dropkicks gig in January)
