Possibly my favourite thing on Radio and it comes from the brits which is depressing... the Radio 1 Live Lounge almost carries on the torch from the infamous Peel Sessions except with Jo Whiley who's not half the DJ that peely was but seriously why dont we have a Live Lounge/Peel session format show on Irish Radio? would there be a audience for such a thing?

I know FM104 used to do live sessions with the Strawberry's and TodayFM have the Live lunch once in a while but it's not the same.

I think most stations do the odd session here or there but as far as i am aware there is no scheduled thing at all on any of the stations...

Bands and artists the world over queue around the block for a chance to record at Maida Vale for the BBC...both for the exposure it brings and for the musical history behind the venue....Irish radio at it's best simply doesn't have that appeal to the same bands/artists...they're not going to get any extra exposure they wouldn't get from their record being played, and there isn't a venue with the same heritage for popular music in this country (that I'm aware of)...
What's so bad about the brits having it? It's always well produced, nearly always a worthy act and the random covers of other artists' tracks are always great....and not an advert within earshot...
