    I think that must mean 'safed' as in safety engaged. Typical literal translation, past tense of safe is saved :)

    Hmm, I don't use a brass brush, just oil and cleaning felts really. Barrel still comes out shiny.

    Direct translation from German would be.
    "Waffe darf nicht gesichert sein" in English the guns saftey catch must not be on safe.

    I use the blue paste every so often for a magic clean, it's a bit scary, but the results are clear.

    The gun is not allowed to be secured is the way I would have read that.

    I am surprised that there is no specific word for safety catch in German!

    becuase the germans are fantastic for mashing words together!!

    waffensicherheitschalter or something similar should be the word!

    I was expecting a composition of the following:

    switch-that-prevents-firing-be-it-through-accident-or-design-of-your-rifle-but-which-should-not-be-relied-upon-to-prevent-accidents

    Now that would be a cool German word.
