    ...for a one bed apartment.

Just to be clear, this apartment has nothing to do with me, but I am constantly amazed when browsing through rental properties in Dublin to find something like this:

1 bed apartment (small enough) for 5 people, rent is €560pw (that's €2426 pm)

I'm not sure who is crazier - the person who put this on the property, or the tenants who must have been there previously to make him think that they would pay this amount.

I'm also reminded very much of those plaques you see in the more delapidated georgian streets "In the early 1900s, this house accomodated 50 families" etc.

Would suit a gang of illegal immigrants or large Indian family.

That apartment is always up on daft. I think it's more geared towards short-term tourists, hence the high weekly rate and the high number the landlord is claiming it can accommodate.

There could be a big market for this kind of thing in Dublin City and a spot like Bachelors Walk would be ideal.

If my memory serves me right- a number of apartments on Batchelors Walk were raided by Gardai several times in the past for ummmm illegal activities involving Eastern European women.........

It could well be this... i would guess there is probably a double futon in the living area, a double room and a single room, that would make up 5 beds....

The fact that there is no minimum lease means its probably rented week by week instead of using hotels ect and thats a way for the owner to make more money

I just suspect that that one is ascam - I don't think those apartments have windows like the one shown (very small) in the bedroom.

It's a one bed, so it's either 5 in the bedroom, 3 in the bedroom and 2 in the livingroom, or 2 in the bedroom, 2 in the livingroom, and 1 in the bath.

Maybe it's a double bed, a single cot type bed also in the bedroom, and a pull out sofabed in the sitting room? There's your five.

Realistically 5 would be way too many people but it depends on who wants it. I'm sure a group of young tourists here for a week in the summer would be happy to cram in together and pay €112 each for a weeks accommodation in the city centre as opposed to hotel costs which would be a hell of a lot more.

I've done the same in cities in Europe and in Australia. The total cost seems steep for whats being offered, but split it between your mates and you've got a fairly cheap base for a week.

My brother lived in a closet for a week when over in the states on a J1 (no jokes about coming out afterwards :))
