Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

After years of delays builders are finally back on site!

    http://i26.tinypic.com/2eveqgl.jpg

The SRFCultras forum has a few more pics taken today.

At the moment its just putting of scaffolding and generally clearing up the site. Builders are due to restart building on Monday. Still on target to open for the 2009 season.

Was only thinking about that the other day and was planning on postign to see if there was any updates.

I assume the plans are to just finish it from the original plans? ie they are not going to try change anything now. (not sure if the west wing incorparating the halting site was part of rovers original plan :D)

I've been waiting years to see Rovers play in that stadium and now I might not get to see them because I'm probably moving to London :(

No, but they'll get brought back from the brink of oblivion by having debts cleared and getting a free stadium.

Such a short, bitter, but at the same time innacurate statement. :D:D

Did Shamrock Rovers repay their debts in full?

This is a yes or no answer.

No need for a big rambling propaganda spiel.

    Yes, or no?

Are SDCC building the stadium at no cost to Shamrock Rovers?

    No they are not.

    No they are not.

Eh, I'm fairly certain they are?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

    Not in full.
    Quite.

The Irish Revenue Commissioners only got 2% of the €1.5m due to them.

Preferential creditors got only 4.25% of €444,700 due to them.

Other creditors got only 2.12% of €1.66m due to them.

So, from debts of €3.5 Million, Rovers paid

    €30,000 to Revenue.
    €18,900 to "preferential" creditors.
    €35,319 to other creditors.

So, out of €3.5 million, they paid a little over 84K.

That is wiped debtsm in anyones books.

    ************
    No they are not.
How much are Shamrock Rovers contributing to the completion of the stadium?

Well that would make you wrong.

Have I taken a wrong turn and ended up on the Gah forum?

    You can't deflect the issue.

    Answer the question.

How much are Rovers paying towards the completion of the stadium?

wtf have the gah to do with it anymore? They were told, rightly, to get the fúck.

    Source for those figures?

And I note the question has changed now. I don't have the exact figures, but we are putting in a figure in the region of €400k to the final project.

Could you not be gracious and wish us well, thank us for making a monkey out of the Gah bigots and not rehash all this again?

    Can you refute them?

Well, any money Rovers put in previously was nicely wiped as part of the "debt restructuring" or whatever flowery term you have for it.

    The question never changed.

    400k?

    Big money for a stadium.
Could you not be gracious and wish us well, thank us for making a monkey out of the Gah bigots and not rehash all this again?
Again, why bring the gah into it? They are done and dusted, they are gone, and good riddance.

Have you paid all your debts? How much did you pay for Tolka? We can play this game all day....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,042 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

Well that would make you wrong.

Have I taken a wrong turn and ended up on the Gah forum?

    I'm a Rovers fan.

My understanding is that SDCC are building a community stadium for the region.

Rovers will be allowed play there at a fixed cost each year, but they are not paying to build the stadium.

If I'm wrong then please show me something that says otherwise and I'll happily admit I'm wrong.

Have you paid all your debts?
No, but we are slowly repaying all monies owed.

We certainly are not getting them written off, by any means.
How much did you pay for Tolka? We can play this game all day....
Probably paid a nominal sum for the lease on it tbh. I don't know, we never owned it, and we don't own it now, and never will.

Ah Kdjac, I was building up to that!

Chopper, Rovers have put millions into the project, that is why the lease is so favourable. Also we will build and own our own clubhouse.

Des, my point is, you are selling your lease to Tolka (in theory) for millions. Yet, as you say, you paid a nominal fee for it. In essence a free stadium. So glass houses and all that. What Rovers did was within company law and 100% above board. You would have done the same if your books could have held up to outside scrutiny.

Why do some people always want to bring up stuff thats been cleared up god knows how many times on forums in the past couple of years again!
So, out of €3.5 million, they paid a little over 84K.
No. As part of the examinership process that all parties agreed to the previous owners lost the club and the high court accepted the offer from the fans. As part of the the debt of ~€2.5m was managed down to €350k. The examinership process was put in place in 1990 to create a mechanism for creditors to get money from a bankrupt company. Thats all done and dusted, if people don't like it then please take up the merits of the examinership process on the politics or business forums.
We can play this game all day....
    :)

Always good to see other clubs obsessed with us :)

Watching our own 'highlights' was bad enough so I'll pass on that offer! I'll be in Tolka on Friday to see if we can pull out of this bad streak with a decent result against Derry.

    Great news.

Somebody said it to me yesterday, and I had asked my wife to "swing by" today and verify. :D

The club text just said Monday for full works.

Most clubs issue highlights DVD's when they win a trophy. :D

Pats win a meanigless end of season game and produce this. I assume with the crowds staying away you have to pay the mounting fines somehow.

Remember, form is temporary but class is permanent! :p
