Art teaching in Ireland for non-nationals?

I am Irish and live abroad with my Iranian artist girlfriend. We are looking at coming home but want to try and find her a job as an art teacher. She is a fluent English speaker and has over 10 years experience teaching painting and drawing in high school and university in Tehran. She has BA and MA degrees in painting from Tehran Art University.

I wonder is there much demand in Ireland for art teachers, and in particular whether she would be able to get an art teaching job in a secondary or vocational school or university. Also, if anyone could point me in the right direction to get info on this, I would appeciate it.

I'm guessing first of all because of her nationality, she may need a work visa, don't know anything about employment law but I guess that would be the first thing to check out.

Secondly, things have changed teaching wise in Ireland. Her degree and teaching qualifications would have to be ratified by the teaching council to get contract work in a school in Ireland. I have no idea how she would stand regarding university work.

Anyway www.teachingcouncil.ie might be a place to start. Perhaps send them an email and see what they have to say.
