Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Feckers! We're off to Rome on Friday, and our B&B just emailed to cancel ALL reservations because of some burst pipes!!

    Argh!

Can anyone recommend a good last minute accomodation website, or even a good recommendation for somewhere close to the centre but not more than 100 a night?!

    So annoying!!!

    (Thanks by the way! :pac:)

When I stayed in Rome there a couple of years ago, I stayed in a place called the Pensione Ottaviano. It was a hostel, but was on the doorstep of the Vatican and actually quiet nice. I found it on www.Hostelword.ie. Also, try tripadvisor.com for some other places. Good luck!

PS Just looked at the www.hostelworld.ie website, there are 317 places listed for Rome, Italy, including Guesthouses, Budget Hotels etc, you should have no problem finding somewhere!!! Bad show on the BnB not providing alternative arrangements!

Try plus camping villages, they're a little far out but excellent facilities and they run a shuttle bus in and out of the city

Friendship place Hostel is a decent budget hostel. 20 euro a night rooms are from 5 to 8 people. No commune room but they give you free pasta dinner if you want, it's not actually that bad either.

It's right beside Termini as well so you can get either MetRo.

Don't go direct to the Hostel though if you find it, there probably wont be someone there, there's a laundromat about 40 meters up from it. That's where the owner is and he has like 7 hostels in the area if that one is full, might even get you a better one too. His names Babu and he loves Irish people ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions! We finally picked Hotel Camelia, a 3 star near Termini and near the 2 metro lines. At this late stage, all that was left were the the really cheap places (dives) and the really expensive ones! Was difficult to find a happy medium!

But Thanks! Me off to Rome this evening :)
