Is there a special power steering fluid for each car or will any do?

According to Haynes manual my PS fluid should be at min when cold and max when hot. Ok cold but a bit down on hot. I know nothing about this, even how long I should be driving to be hot. Thanks for any help

    Make/model/year?

I know that VW Group cars require specific PAS fluid. Some makes require automatic transmission fluid (ATF).

Not 100% sure of the requirements for Ford PAS. But others here will know.

Maybe give a Ford dealer a call. Ford parts/fluids aren't too expensive.
