Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
Can you insulate a dormer room as a ventilated roof as in the attached diagram but use a breather membrane and fully fill the sloped section instead of leaving a 50mm gap?
Dont want to heat the whole roof if possible as in a warm roof.

    Thanks.

PS using external insulation as in diagram

What is the cross flow ventilator made from?

if you want to create a warm roof, you can ventilate over the rathers by counterbattening. similar to the diagram at the bottom of this page... you need a 50mm cavity...

theoretically you might be able to do what you suggested, by many certifiers would insist on the 50mm gap to be on the safe side. the ventilation regulations insist on it anyway.
