Also on the subject of unnecessary meat in things, anyone know where I can get my hands on pesto made with vegetarian parmesan? Or indeed vegetarian parmesan itself? Thanks

I also always understood there was no such thing. You might get veggie pecorino. Nicer imho.

I have vegan parmesan. Can't remember the name. Will post it later. As for pesto, some supermarket brands will be veggie (but they're hard to find), but try health food shops. I've definately had veggie pesto before

You can get a vegetarian 'parmesan' called florentino parmazano in Tesco and most health shops. Meridian also do a vegan pesto which some health shops stock.
