    Hi All

For those of you who havent read my last post. I am a non-accounting/business graduate looking to step into a career in accountancy. I have a 2.2 BSc in physics.

I have registered for the ACCA starting sept08 and intend on doing F1 F2 and F3. But I have just seen that you can do these through CBE.

Has anyone done the home study option from BPP?

How long should you give yourself to cover the course content and study before applying for the CBE. Would 3.5mths be enough??

Im asking because if its possible to do maybe F1 or F3 in the CBE sitting on14th sept ( i think cant remember the date) then I might do this.

    Thanks everyone!

Hi, just answer your question. It is possible to study at home for F1 F2 and F3. I am currently preparing for F2 and F3 CBE. As what I know that many colleges are running CBE almost once a month even twice a month until March 2009, price is between 120 -125 Euro per course. And it could be ok to do CBE on 14th Sep unless you work hard on them.

    Hi
The CBE exams are very handy. I just done F2 last month and I am home studying through BPP. The only thing you need to look out for is BPP sending you the material on time I know I have had long waits for my books and I ended up not doing F2 in December when i had planned becouse the books were so late.
They really are ok to cover in 3.5 months and if you get the Ipass CD you can fly trough it.

the I-Pass CD is the most important part of the homestudy kit. It's basically the exam with a question bank of circa 1000 questions.

I started studying F2 in March 07 and sat the CBE exam mid April 07 and passed. To be honest, you could pass these exams by just using the CD.

Keep on doing mock exams (1 every day) until you start getting 60%+...once you start achieving this grade, get enrolled for the next CBE exam.

    Thanks guys

    I think I'll do that.
But it looks like I might have an interview for a small practice that specialise in audit taxation etc.

The only problem is they follow ACA. I dont know what to do!
I'll see if I get the interview first. But for now my intention is to do the ACCA.

Good luck with you exams in June climber and everyone else!
