Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Volume license keys are not, IIRC, available for general retail. You would have to be a business or other such institution to be able to avail of those.

As a consumer, your only option is to buy multiple keys.

Ah i see. I imagine to purchase a product key online it will cost as much as buying the retail pack yes?

I have windows vista basic on my laptop and it is really annoying. I don't think my two young cousins will like it though in some cases it is easier to use. They both have xp in their dell so i think it is better to just give them the same thing again to keep things simple.

Do you have to be a registered computer or IT business to get this iirc copy of Windows xp or can it be any old business?

Windows is a per computer license ( or in the case of Vista , per partition !! )

IIRC you can be a volume customer if you buy 5 or more licenses from any pool - so no good there, you get a slightly better price, not sure if you can get OEM. You still need one per PC

In the US there was a deal last year to buy one full copy of Vista and get another two in the same house for a little extra , nothing like that here.

You can buy VISTA online , not XP
if you buy Vista business you can downgrade to XP

Find out if theuy are students in case they can get it academic versions

im going to look into to it. My band is a registered business. Maybe i could get a volume cd for our "business" computers. Technically we do use our computers to book gigs and stuff so i dont see any problem with that.

    http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/programs/open/default.mspx
it's "microsoft open license" for 5 to 250 ( 5 desktops or one server)

Note: while open license may be cheaper than retail , it may not be cheaper than OEM , but that's because it doesn't have the OEM restrictions.
