Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Another band I've been meaning to check out for years and only now getting around to it. Pretty cool stuff I reckon
    The Advent of Panurge

    Any fans? Recommendations?

Really just know the first 4 albums. I'd have to say that Gentle Giant's music is complex, they don't have the theatre of genesis, the bombastic of ELP, the edginess of Van der graff generator, nor the wacky jazz of Gong. However their musicianship is top drawer, as well as having super vocal harmonies and mesmerising vocal arrangements, check out knots on the fourth album Octopus.

The first album is a good debut but is patchy in areas (cover version of God save the queen at the end really sounds pants) The second Acquiring the taste is my choice, it has a nice flow to album some lovely tracks on it. the third one '3 friends' has some great moments in it. its the blistering solo of Peel the paint which does it for me on this album. Octopus seems to be the fans choice but I think it kind of dies off on the second side, still great stuff all the same.
