Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hiya folks,

I have just booked to go to Philly in November but was surprised that they did not do the usual "passport details in advance" stuff.

I am used to flying continental who have the US pre clearance in dublin and am concerned that we wont get it. Its great bypassing immigration in the states.

    Anyone know for sure ?

I have never seen the point of this if the flight is cleared by US immigration in Dublin/Shannon.

The yanks in their over the top procedures, like to get peoples passport numbers so they can check people over in advance. It is handy when you get off over the other side to be marshalled straight past immigration and out to the baggage hall. It saves time and while dublin is crap at most times, it is still preferable to the queues over there.

I think you have misunderstood me.

Some airlines such as AL demand Passport details 10 days prior to check in. As you know all AL flights are cleared in Dublin. I can understand the need for advance details where flights are not precleared in advance i.e. from London etc.

US Airways flight depart after the pre-clearance office closes in Dublin along with some of the late afternon Aer Lingus flight. So Clearance will be completed in PHL.
