Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It may have escaped the attention of people but our new government is led almost entirely by people from the Bog. Now im sure they themselves are perfectly decent and proper people however anyone from Dublin who saw Brian Cowens 'homecoming' in Offaly over the weekend might be forgiven for thinking we had gone back in time such was his waffling about 'a new patriotism' and 'the real money is in the heart' etc......I for one am not comfortable with this. Brian Lenihan is now the only top TD in cabinet representing civilisation now that Bertie is gone. I feel that the country is now frimly headed for disaster and us Dubs will be inflicted with country thinking.:( I just dont trust these people:(:(

Well, the faith you seem to have in Dubs was really worth it with regard to Bertie right?

Thanks be to jaysus for that horse.

I was sick to the back teeth listening to goons from Drumcondra who could barely speak English, running the show.

The nod and wink men seem to be gone, and the chicklit writrs, the Zclass celeb pop stars, the "poor mouth" liggers, and the "salt of the earth" types, who would cut your throat in a blink.

Now we have straight talking ,in an understandable voice, and none of the fooking shuffling and dodging and sidestepping that has been rampant for so long.

    Good frikken riddance.

Dublin people are all scumbag drugdealers/junkies. every last one of them without exception.

This has been a party political broadcast on behalf of the culchies.

They're all a bunch of conservative scaremongernig pathetic wasters, no matter where they come from.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Pfft. I'm more concerned about Mary Hanafin (whom the OP seems to have forgotten about) being in Social Services. How much experience do you think she has in dealing with poverty while representing the good people of Dun Laoghaire?

A culchie for myself at least is an affectionate name for a person not born in Dublin. It's a jokey geographic description. Simple as.

Boggers on the other hand I despise. Their pettiness, their narrowmindedness their cute hoorismisms etc. Boggers can come from anywhere, town, city or village.

Eamon o Cuiiiiiiive I consider a bogger of the highest order, Bertie I consider a bogger too. Our new glorious leader biffo on the other hand I don't. I don't agree with a lot of what he stands for, but I don't see him as a bogger.

Historically I would have considered DeValera of the bogger persuasion, Mick Collins on the other hand I wouldn't and he was from Cork. Trust me speaking as a 8th generation Dub, praising a Corkonian in such a fashion fair stuck in my craw... :D

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

You have to include the Pale, not just Dublin. So East Meath, North Kildare, North Wicklow, etc.
Little known fact: Dublin is not connected to Louth!

He was born in Dublin and was educated at Oatlands College, Dublin and University College Dublin

You were saying, he's one of yours! Now back to your tenenment! :p

I don't care who they are because I'd run the country better anyway.

    Free log tables for everybody.

EDIT: But being honest I trust Dublin folk less. I have seen many of them walking down the street with coffee in their hand but not once have they feckin drank any of it. I bet there's flies in it.

I don't trust people who kill flies with coffee and pretend they're going to drink it.
