Donuts and tearing around the place is, in fact, impossible in tesco, due to the large influx of cars. In my experience, this sort of behaviour may have been the case several years ago, but this trend has long since passed.

Aragh, come on now. sure we saw 'em pulling donuts last week. Racing around the car park as well. are you honestly saying thats a thing of the past? lol. If anything, it's getting worse. a few weeks ago they tried to race my friends and I at the magic roundabout, (the one with lights)

P.S. articulating the hel out of your comment dosen't make you seem smarter.:D
What kinda car do you drive anyway?

I think most people have had enough bad experiences with boy racers, or people driving pimped-up cars, that its only to be expected that they will form prejudices against the rest of you.

I have to agree here. I worked in a service station not long ago with boy and girl racers, and believe you me, doing donuts is not a thing of the past! Granted all you need are ears that hear to know that. I don't mind ye meeting and chatting as long as ye quit the noise..why at 1am plus tho? Don't ye have work/school to be going to the next morning?

By the way Dankers, who is this 'we' you talk about?
(If my grammer and articulation aren't up to scratch I apologise)

Agreed. At least it doesn't drive within inches of my bumper or wake me up in the middle of the night though.

In my geeky days, I used to be known as a hardcore overclocker. When I was 12, I used to have college dorky geeks drool in awe of my hardcore, physicially overclocked machine(s). I even rememner a lectuter telling me 'how damn cool' my modding was... ah to be a geek again

90% of the people that hang around tesco meetin with their souped up cars are just f*ckin tools! I have met a number of boy/girl racers and all they want to do is race and drive like idiots, most them around the mid 20 mark and alot are banned off the road for the stupid driving.
And yes, hanging around a car park late at night for a chat is quite retarded (prob coz the lot cant get into a nightclub).

Sorry it's taken so long to get back, I forgot about it. The "we" I was referring to before was myself and my friend that was with me. I think everybody has gotten a little caught up in their own ideas and distracted from the point. I'm still a bit annoyed over the fact that some of the people on this keep painting everyone with the same brush. Some of ye are going on about these mr2's looking like ferraris and the fiestas with the exhausts and spoilers and everything, but someone finally thought to ask what I drive. I drive a relatively new audi and my friend drives a new golf, neither of which have exhausts or spoilers or are trying to look like anything but what they are. We don't pull handbrakes or do donuts, like I said before, it is only a small few who do. I agree that there are some less desirable people down there who I wouldn't even talk to, but they're everywhere aren't they? It doesn't matter where you go there's always going to be someone there giving the place a bad name.
I understand what was said before about having bad experiences, I had a very bad one myself recently with a "boy racer" but he doesn't go down tesco which just shows that not every person who drives aggressively in a car thats 2 inches off the ground, has a plane like spoiler and a loud exhaust is part of the same group.
Also, I still don't think it's for anyone to judge what type of car they choose to drive or how they choose to modify it. It is each individuals personal choice and should not be bashed for it. Personally, I don't like many of those cars myself but I'll still defend their right to choose for themselves.
Oh and I don't understand why people keep asking why it goes on until 2 or 3 am... like I said before, that it is just another place or way to socialise (which is clearly not for everyone), asking why we stay out until 2am is like asking why one would stay at their friend's house or in a pub until that time. The answer is simple, we are talking, enjoying each others company, doing what everyone else does when they meet their friends, just in a different place under somewhat different circumstances. We go home when we are tired or bored.
.....That was longer than planned but I guess it gives another perspective.

    Firstly a good post.

I completely agree that the car they choose is entirely upto them and good luck to them - but a large number of these (I'm guessing at the majority) then drive their cars in a wholly unacceptable manner too fast, taking risks etc to show off, who to I'm never really sure - don't they know people are just laughing at them!!.
Of course the fact they have an bean tin on their exhaust and lots of bits of plastic makes it far more noticable than say the middle aged 'boy racer' who goes hammering it in his ford focus.

You really aren't who posters are having a pop at, you yourself have identified the sort of people who we take issue with, it just happens you socialise in the same area

I compleatly agree. went there again a few nights back and they were driving like mad even when a woman with a baby trolly was trying to cross the road! i still dont see the point (and i never will) of thise stupid blue lights under the framework or the massive exhausts. it's almost like an air raid siren for thugs!

For the same reason you paint your house a certain colour or that you choose to put lights pointing at your house in the front lawn.

I used to live in Dun na Coiribe and could hear them pretty much every night over there. They are NOT quiet! Someone will probably get knocked down before anything is done about it. At least when their in that car park their not on the roads endangering good peoples lives so theres probably some grace in that.

I work so I wouldn't tend to be over at a friends house till 2am on week day but I have no qualm with what time you socialise at, just maybe take the exhaust off? and the dump valve? and have the stereo turned down to 6 or 7? and no doughnuts? oh and tell the girls in the passenger seats to cheer up they always look so f'in moody!

i've been nearly run down (seriously i ran for my life) twice with these knackers turning the wheel, laughing at the ever last minute. if i had doubled back or paused, i'd be dead now. my bf was nearly grabbed by one in a moving car. Them hurling verbal abuse tbh is just the tip of the iceberg. i've yet to see one of these scumbags drive like a human being an until i do, tar/same brush quite happily.

That's probably because they don't find boyracing half as exiting as their boyfriends.

Did that happen in Tesco and under what circumstances?

I saw one of those cars the other day. It was a silver Astra (the really ugly model, the one before the current one) and it had a silly spoiler and massive shotgun type exhaust.

It also had G-UNIT stenciled on the back window.

Heard a great story from my mom about a boy reacer the cops stopped in front of her awhile back in town. She was talking to a friend when to guards stopped a boy racer outside the 2 euro shop. There were twow guys in the car and they just started getting cheeky with the guards and giving abuse. The gurds repeatedly told them to stop with the lip and no more cheek but the two lads kept it up. My mom said that by the time the guards were finished they had got the driver on over 12 violations, including bald tyres, broken tail light, ect. When teh guard was handing the driver his licence back he told him with a smile that a tiny bit of respect would have gone a long way was they only stopped him to warn him about playing loud music in the town.
