Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Good grief.

Does anyone know if Dell would provide a XP disc? hardly ...so there's a "Windows" license with the laptop (OEM is it) so if I got my hands on a version of XP it would be valid as the license on the machine is still valid!!

Are the drivers non-OS-specific? if so wouldn't the disc which comes with the machine work after XP is installed?

I didn't realise it was as bad as it is...I'd heard rumours but no concrete stories about the difficulties of using Vista. The first installation on Vista I tried failed!!

I would say give vista another chance
it will bed in after a while

To install software with vista remember to right click on setup.exe and run as Administrator
if you have a old software program that will not install
look on the internet for any updates seems to work for me

Runnning Vista Business here and have installed and tweaked 3 Eircom BB Routers (work, gf's, and dad's) with absolutely no problem. Knocked off UAC as soon as I got the laptop and have had no problems. UAC might be where things are going wrong for you.

    I see.

The error I got was not that of security though.

I probably won't get to try this until the weekend. Soundman I'd be grateful if you could pass me on any further information on installing Eircom broadband gear on Vista!

To be honest, there was nothing to it. I just installed it in the normal fashion that you would on XP, or any other OS.

What problem exactly are you having? Any screen shots of error messages?
