If i process a RAW file in PS and add layers etc etc

I usually flatten them down and save as jpg then bring them off to a printer and print from there.

Is that my only option? is it possibly to print from RAW? as if I do all this processing and save as jpg do I lose alot of info?

I heard tiff can be used to? is this correct?

You can use and print from tiff.
But as far as I know its not possible to print from RAW..

    But I await correction...

I've certainly not heard of it being done either.

I'm wondering as some programs store all their RAW edits in sidecar files if printers would be able to read both the original image and then apply any edits you've made by reading the sidecar file? I doubt it's possible.

I suspect it may go that way, but for the moment i think it has to be jpeg or tiff for some places. If you're saving at full size and minimum compression, i doubt you'd see any difference unless you are printing hoooge...

You can print directly from RAW in Lightroom, as long as you don't need to take a trip to PS for any additional editing.
