Talkin 'bout the carwash

Please can someone tell me the purpose of the carwash (other than the obvious) It has to be the most pointless feature in any GTA game ever. Why would anyone use it over using the Paint Shop?

Does it come into use later in the game?

Well I think its quite useful, in that you can... and... nah I got nothin'!

In the older games you could use it to wash off a newly painted car losing all your wnated stars in the process.

Well if you have a nice car and you're just getting it dirty but really like the paint job...

(like the really rare orange/red banshee colour)

i'd day ts purely to show that rockstar have it sussed how to make objects interact with the terrain in the game..

im 55% through the game, and havent used them once. not once.

Completed the game and didn't have to use it once. You can see some dirty cars going around the place throughout the game so maybe it's for the OCDs?

yeah you do. it's the only time i've every used the car wash and i'm at about 92% completed at this stage
