Any sites in Europe stocking the 1660 or 1660 super and not at ridiculous prices? Dont mind paying within 150 of the mrsp

Can use https://geizhals.eu/ to search but not all sites listed will deliver to here.

I dont think any of the stores listed on that website actually delivery to Ireland, not without post forwarding service.

Amazon UK for SSD probably. Adverts and eBay have grey market windows 10 keys which are fine and office keys

Memoryc.ie sell SSDs, based in celbridge. You'll get keys from adverts or amazon if you want to go fully legit. Office suite of tools is available for free online these days on the office website and windows will work without a key forever.

Any other options for Pre built systems out there outside of Dell? Thanks to brexit u can't see much options anymore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,929 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

I just got reply from pcspecialist.ie I asked them about whole brexit and customs.

So he said that they are registered in Ireland and it will be Irish vat and should be no issues. And that if there are any custom duties, it will be covered by them on arrival.

Hopefully this helps out to someone.

With the 3070Ti and 3080Ti about to be released (announced?) along with Nvidea's low hash rate refresh of all their cards, are there any retailers still sticking close to the recommended retail price when they do get cards in?

If I wanted to take a chance getting an order in as soon as sites go live with the new cards, who are most likely to not rip me off by crazy amounts on the small chance I snap an order before a bot?

Nobody knows. Also, you know nothing about the cards then their names, so is it that important to purchase one?

Right now, the only retailer in Europe who isn't ripping off consumers is the direct sales via AMD/Nvidia with their reference cards.

Do Nvidia even sell cards to us here in Ireland?

Supposed to through Scan UK before brexit, not after Brexit. Scan cant sort out their shipping.

Nope but they don't care either.

Important? No, not at all. These things are pure luxury items and I already have a 1070. The very definition of non-essential.
    I don't even think I'll be successful.

I did see that EVGA have a virtual queue running for all of their cards to try and limit them to one per household. You get an email when its your turn and you have 8 hours to confirm a purchase.

I might just put my name down on that once the new LHR variants go up and then wait another 6 to 9 months for my shot :)

Caseking have 2060's in stock for 590 if anyone is interested. They have some 1660 Supers as well for 618 and 643 depending on the model.
Still very overpriced but if you have no GPU at all it will get you up and running.

They have a 1650 for 230 as well

You would want to be mental to pay that price for any of those cards.

AMD direct or a decent second hand deal or forget about it.

There's still people selling gtx 970's for in and around €100 on adverts which outperforms the 1650 slightly.

Oh yeah its insane pricing but looking at Ebay Ireland and a 1660 Super listed as brand new is going for about 780. They're probably scalpers as well. Dirty scalpers!

Planning an order for a build for my son from caseking.de but there is a warning about 21% vat at checkout. I thought as part of the EU this wouldn't apply, anyone bought recently and if so, were there any problems?

They are just alerting that you will be charged Irish VAT rather than the lower German VAT. This is the way it works

I ordered a case, a CPU and RAM from them back in January. They charged the Irish VAT rate but there was no customs charges (which I think is what you are really asking about). All the prices on the site are advertised with the German VAT rate because they are a Germany company so they adjust at the checkout depending on the EU country they are delivering to.

Delivery was fast for where it was coming from at that time of the year. I think it came over from France directly to Ireland rather than going through the UK.

They can be a little expensive but they do good work and even replied to me questions about the case in English. I was building the PC myself and found the mother board and PSU cheaper on the Amazon.de and Amazon.fr sites respectfully.

I did some shopping around and if I split the build between amazon, caseking, and computeruniverse I might save around 30 euro but for sake of it I'm just going to go with either caseking or computeruniverse, both were about the same price.

Yes they do but..there is a big but...

I checked with Scan support yesterday, they still fulfil Irish orders for FE cards from Nvidia store (probably because they are contracted to) but they will charge you UK VAT so you would also have to pay Irish VAT when it hits customs

I'm nearly positive they used digital river right up until Brexit, then the UK went to scan as the supplier for the UK.

And to be clear, digital river is a **** company to deal with, but they supply lots of company's equipment direct into Ireland from its European distribution center.

Ireland getting lumped into the UK after Brexit that is a really good example of the company not giving a ****.

What's the best place to buy storage? Need a 1/2TB M.2 but Amazon's supply chain is compromised AGAIN with fake and wrong products.

If Amazon is the seller doesn't that mean it is legit?

An Amazon worker told me they lump literally all of the same product into one container no matter who it's from. Amazon was selling bootleg books... books. Their original business and yes ones sold by 'them'. Some people were opening M.2 boxes full of cardboard stuffing. This ain't new either. Amazon has had a huge problem with fake items and fake reviews forever now. I ain't risking it for a large purchase like this unless the alternatives are wildly more expensive.

I think going a bit overboard there. I have bought about 30K worth of parts direct from Amazon - not fulfilled by Amazon - over the last few years and not once did I have an issue like that.

I have been ordering from Amazon since 2002 and only twice have had problems with things they sent me, the first was fulfilled by Amazon. I ordered a Razer Tartarus v2 and when I opened the perfectly sealed box there was an old Razer Nostromo.

The second time it was from a third party - I ordered Luigi's Mansion for the Nintendo Switch and got sent a PC printer driver installation disk.
