    Hi all
Just wondering when you're renting an apartment is it up to you the tenant to pay management fees or the landlord? I'd have thought it was the landlord as they'd have a contract with the mgt company? But I don't know! Any help would be appreciated!

It depends on what is in your lease.

A fairly standard lease would have the landlord pay these fees, but a lease can require the tenant to pay any charge connected with the property in addition to the rent.

Hence it is always important to read the lease.

The landlord is liable for the management fees, but in some cases, it's passed along (and included in the rent).

I guess it would depend and maybe differ from case to case.

Some charges, like refuse may directly be passed on to the tenant.

I wouldn't expect a tenant to pay that, its definately the landlords expense.
