Decking: Frame construction

    Hi all,

    looking to erect a small deck out the back. Its to be laid on an existing concrete base with the frame consisting of 4"x2". Should the frame be preserved? If so is there such a preservative that wont make the frame so dark that one can see it up through the gaps of the decking planks?

    you can buy pressure treated timber to use as your frame. its usually finished in a light green colour similar to the decking. where you cut the timber might need some treatment but other then that it should be ok as is
