Hey Bones, not a pink ele as such just a FreeView product as opposed to FREESAT, dont think we get any freeview signals over here, if the Humax Foxsat HDR you need if you want to receive Freesat in Ireland.

Emmmm..... I don't know how to say this to you with out upsetting you, but..... well you just blew your cash on something that will not work here.

The box you bought is not for satellite use at all, it is for DTT (freeview in the UK).

To the best of my knowledge, it is not compatible with DTT here in Ireland either....

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I hope you did not spend too much and that you can get a refund...

    Cheers Folks

im no tecnophobe, but i did think i researched this un enough to take the plunge, i wil have to grovel to send it back. you live and learn, but can you recommend the exact one that will plug direct into sky dish and is it a worthy exchange to break away from the sky hold.

    thanks again.

I have just installed a Humax Foxsat HD box (connected to an an 80cm Aldi dish) and the reception is perfect. Everything is fine except for the fiddly changeover to the 4 Irish channels (being received on an eternal aerial - UHF - Spur Hill, Cork).

Is there anyway of connecting the UHF signal to the Humax box ? - I have seen Satellite / UHF diplexers advertised on the internet. Has anyone tried this and do they work?

All my scheduled recordings are recording an hour out so missing everything.
I tried powering down yesterday to see if that fixed it but it didnt. Its recording todays programs are an hour out too.
I have to just delete all of the set recordings and enter them again.
Has this happned to anyone else after the clocks changed.

Unfortunately it happened to me too. Can't remember it happening other times.
